This holy text of the philosophy of the cannabible mythology inspired by an academic treatise by Chris Conrad. A central New Zealand based chapter of Cantheism hereby created is an ecumenical plant-based theology offered as a formal apology to Gaia to redress past grievances and to protect future generations through the religious use of plants under the last remaining rights of the Magna Carta of 1215 and the universal rights of the United Nations of The People of Earth. The religious use of the Kanthe should be recognized and protected and provided equal protection of the law as other religions are.

The Great Green-Golden Age

~1M to 100,000 BC

During the great green-golden age, an empathic interstellar alien race had broken down on Earth while searching the galaxy for the funk. and plants built an enormous hemp rope extending to the heavens near the equator, and had established a launch platform at an orbit 35,786 km above sea level to facilitate easier access to space. Gaia lived close to Sir Funkalot and all of humankind lived in harmony.

During green-golden age there was no separation between humans and their interstellar friends, who were ruled by a female they called Gaia. A human called Sir Funkalot travelled with her to the home planet of Gaia, and came back to tell stories about it.

But something occurred in 75,450 BC that alienated her and she removed herself permanently from our timeline, severing the rope that maintained mankind’s relationship to the sky, causing great suffering.

The Mende say that the Gaia withdrew into the heavens because humans continually begged benefits from her, pulling up gold and oil from the ground and burning it into the air, cutting down the forests, and eating all the fish. The Ashanti say the Gaia retreated into the heavens after a man accidentally hit one with a pestle while pounding traditional food, forgetting where the food actually came from. The people of the upper White Nile say the relationship was severed when this hemp rope between heaven and earth was accidentally cut by man, or more likely on purpose by Gaia herself in retreat.

Cantheist Monthly Prayers

We gather on the first Friday of each month, no later than 4:20pm and recite our lord’s prayer as follows:

  • I believe that Cannabis sativa is the useful cane and the true hemp and;
  • is a restorative natural resource for all humanity to grow, share, and use
  • I shall honour its existence by sharing a sip of this chalice of wine;
  • and by igniting this olympic baton;
  • and by swinging this incense of dried flower
  • I believe that the Cannabis plant
  • is endowed with important healing powers
  • still holds unexplained mysteries and knowledge for us to come
  • I shall offer it to ease the suffering of others
  • is a sacrament within my community
  • shall be received with thanksgiving and deep respect for its resinous powers.
  • The cultivation and dissemination of cannabis are honorable professions.
  • I shall act with absolute integrity and honesty to protect the Cantheist community and its values

Philosophy of Openness

Cantheism neither endorses nor discriminates against any other church, faith, or system of belief. Anyone may incorporate Cantheism into their current religious persuasion, so long as they adhere to the monthly psalms of 4:20.

Many of the Earth’s great religions have used Cannabis sacramentally and ceremonially, including but not limited to: Biblical Judeo-Christian-Moslem religions, Coptic Christianity, Rastafari mention the following psalms: Genesis 1:29-31; Ezekiel 34:29; Isaiah 18:4-5; Rev. 22:1-2. Sacred spliff. Egyptians: Smoke Eaters at the Temple at Thebes, incense, mortality rituals. Hinduism: Sadhu, ganja, chillum, spiritual and physical healing, smoking cloth. The mystical interpretation of Cannabis healing powers via Ayurvedic practices. Pygmy and other African religions: Mound smokers, animism, the spirit of plants and nature, the breath of the gods. Scythianism: Smoking huts, hemp labor, cannabis purification rituals. Shamanism: Use of all herbs in mystical pursuit of the infinite. Sufi Moslems: Use cannabis to reach an ecstatic state. Zoroastrianism: Use cannabis to communicate with god on high for mystical consciousness and personal enlightenment.

Kotahitanga The Unity Movement

In the 19th and 20th centuries, Te Kotahitanga movements aimed to unify Māori on non-tribal grounds. Some have been religious, while others focused on political power, protest or social issues driven by the outrageous theft of land by babylon.

The graphic symbol for Cantheism is modelled after the ancient Egyptian hieroglyph for hemp rope, which was later transformed into the letter “h”.

The hand symbol for Cantheism is right hand cupped around the left, with two fingers extended in the inner hand, symbolising the male and the female plants. The overall hand gesture signifying the female calyx which holds the trichome glands.

Astronomy: Sirius, the brightest star in the nearby constellation Canis Major (Big Dog) symbolises cannabis in the Northern winter sky. The three stars of Orion’s belt represent the three aspects of cannabis: Commerce, Medicine, and Spirit.

Botanical Ancestry: Either the cannabis plant was first given to the Dogon people of Africa by aliens the Sirius system… or it co-evolved alongside humans in the hindu kush / asia region.

Etymology: The word Cannabis derives from the greek Kanna but this word itself derives from the African language Dogon in Mali.

Numerology: The practice of traditional numerology and astrology is discouraged, as it persists in involving unproven and unchanging assumptions about the true meaning apparent coincidental number-letter-position sequencing in common books, and because it is not scientifically tested, instead using principles of human cognition to create the illusion of meaning through pattern matching.

Codes, Rites, Rituals, Ceremonies

  • If smoking in the presence of others who do not, to be polite and ask
    • “Excuse me while i light my spliff!” or similar righteous question
  • The extent of one’s participation is a measure of the depth of one’s devotion
  • Practice cantheism at the church often and especially on any of the following eight days:
    • Friday and Saturday of each week at 4:20pm
    • First paired dates of each month even if half-in eg Friday Dec 31
    • Open days each of the four solar seasons as charitable purpose
      • Drum jam session day: 1 hour formal drum 3 hours jam
      • Tree planting day excursion: 4 hours in the field
      • Includes 4 hours free shuttle bus to collect and drop off
      • Free and open to the community we shall also sell tickets
  • Make oblation with the hemp seed, and sow it everywhere
  • Offer thanksgiving and blessing for cannabis when you partake
  • Share the holy smoke among the faithful
  • Use a hempen prayer cloth to inhale through when sharing the holy smoke among the community
  • Outside of church, children under 18 are forbidden to use the sacrament
  • Only a parent may choose to offer cannabis their own child if older than 16
  • The child may pass on this opportunity with no negativity or stigma
  • Only when a child has reached 18 is s/he condoned to imbibe outside church

Freedom pilgrimage: Take the sacrament in a land that it is free from oppression at least once, and remember the years of persecution should you be lucky to live in a free land

The cause is to promote political consideration of scientifically proven and sustainable ways of living that can be shown to be more in harmony with natural ecosystems; to gently supplement existing infinite-growth theory based economic models and establish sustainable scientific economic theory; to guide humanity’s current habitual use of fossil fuels with sustainable energy and mineral use, while respecting the need for rare earth metals to run our lovely gadgets but to do it with respect for mother nature; To override or simply provide guidance to people in power about which course of action is likely to assist in maximising biodiversity and justice; and to provide funds to direct response actions by our pastors, disciples and beneficiaries who seek to defend biodiversity and the people caught up in humans rights abuses brought about by systemic lack of empathy for nature.

The cause uses its belief in Cantheism as a vehicle to propel its ambitions; an open-minded ecumenical philosophy which reveres all beneficial plants that evolved alongside humankind, and rallies against those who wish to cause the purposeful suppression or extinction of indigenous species for no proper scientific reason, or to needlessly destroy living matter incongruent with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People or UNDRIPS.

To facilitate and fund activities and direct actions that support the cause; including but not limited to meetings, education, legal representation, professional services, accommodation, office rental, leases, events, marketing, grants, fund raising events, so long as they support the covenants set out by the UNDRIPS document, which becomes an official holy book to the church.

To provide a legal fund for representation of beneficiaries in court actions involving their human rights, provide advice and legal recommendations, support for injunctions and launches of class actions were deemed relevant.

To provide financial support to create community learning days once per quarter where anybody can learn play musical instruments from teachers, paint and draw pictures with donated materials, access the internet and learn to program computers; and hopefully eat some free food.

To provide financial support to create quarterly Hug A Tree Tree Planting Days where anybody, underprivileged, unemployed, underpaid, can come for a fun trip to plant trees and get lunch and tea. We hope to be a charitable bridge, capable of accepting commercial donations in exchange for tree planting, but this is not the main purpose of the trust, just an interesting business concept to make the place nicer. This in theory should allow us also to use prisoners and those on community work programmes potentially.  

The Trust Deed

The name of the board is the

This is a charitable trust of type CT1 under Section 7(3) Charitable Trusts Act 1957.

Charitable Purpose

The good purpose of the trust for the community is:

  • Become over time a functional Science, Music and Arts Social Commune
  • To support unity, higher thought, organic rights, and progress
  • To protect the right to freedom of thought
  • Promote post-capitalist sustainability and macroeconomics
  • Three main benefits to community are in music, ecology, education
  • Religious and Scientific benefits
    • Production of our holy book of mythology and bible: Ambāḍī ākāśātÄ«la
    • Support spiritual meetings for the devoted
    • Events intended to bring peace and happiness to all in the community
    • Social gathering place
  • Primary focus is to support drummers and other musicians and artists
    • To learn, practice, record and perform
    • Music and computer education days open to all
    • Ideally more than annually, “drum education open days” such as:
      • A free shuttle to collect and drop off students
      • A kind of “scholarship” programme to select up to 5 young drummers from each school locally for the weekend open day lessons and show
      • Tickets can also be purchased for those interested
  • Secondarily to support plant focussed ecological work in the community
    • Tree planting, forest and city garden maintenance, beach cleaning excursions
    • Soup and gluten free bread available

Beneficiary Entitlements are disbursed according to criteria such as:

  • The disbursement schedule
  • urgent and current legal representation of victims of state oppression.
  • to sponsor injunctions in court.
  • past victims of persecution assistance.
  • to pay those contributing work to the church and costs of upkeep.

Initial Trust Fund [NEEDS WORK]

  • Tom Atkinson, who is the person creating the trust (the settlor) does show a clear intention to create the trust, by the vestment of his musical instruments and electronics.
  • The trust deed must clearly identify the money or property that is to be held in trust (known as the initial trust fund).
  • The trust deed must identify specific people [mostly Tom’s friends initially] or classes of people [drummers, musicians, artists, scientists] as beneficiaries of the trust, or identify a charitable purpose [teaching music with scholarship programme for young drummers, teaching rational thought philosophy, taking ecological excursions, tree planting, beach cleaning etc].
  • The trust deed must be signed or sealed by the settlor and by every trustee appointed under the deed. The trust deed must be executed in “proper form”, which means it must be in writing and must be witnessed by someone who records his or her address and occupation on the deed.
  • Trusts for charitable purposes are not required to have an end date. Other trusts, however, including community-based trusts that don’t qualify as “charitable”, are required to specify an end date in the trust deed.

Organic Rights

To put it simply, organic rights are like human rights but also expand to cover all living things, especially plants, and are limited by nature’s ability to provide and the laws of physics.

Recognize the right of all peoples to be different, to consider themselves different, and to be respected as such.

All peoples contribute to the diversity and richness of civilizations and cultures, which constitute the common heritage of humankind.

Recognise the urgent need to respect and promote the inherent rights of other organisms which derive from their political, economic and social structures and from their cultures, spiritual traditions, histories and philosophies, especially their rights to their lands, territories and resources.

Respect indigenous knowledge, cultures and traditional practices where it contributes to sustainable and equitable development and proper management of the environment

Contribute to the demilitarization of the lands and territories of other organisms to peace, economic, social progress and development, understanding and friendly relations among nations and peoples of the universe.

Recognise the right of indigenous families and communities to retain shared responsibility for the upbringing, training, education and well-being of their children, consistent with the rights of the child.

Advocate and end to all doctrines, policies and practices based on or advocating superiority of peoples or individuals on the basis of national origin, racial, religious, ethnic or cultural differences as racist, scientifically false, legally invalid, morally condemnable and socially unjust.

other organisms and citizens alike have the right to their traditional medicines and to maintain their health practices and ceremonies, including the conservation of their vital medicinal plants, animals and minerals. Individuals also have the right to access, without any discrimination, to all social and health services.

Welcome the fact that other organisms are organizing themselves for political, economic, social and cultural enhancement and in order to bring an end to all forms of discrimination and oppression wherever they occur.

Church Driver and Transport

Volunteer drivers are generally exempt, up to 12 seats. Needs to be volunteer or staff member, must not be the primary thing they do. Any payments collected by driver from passengers must only be for running costs, and not include drivers service.

How to become a member and get promoted?

Various chapters will be established throughout the universe, and given accounts on the website

Level 1 – Entry is by invitation only Open to all, with a simple written declaration and donation at the entrance of the monthly church ceremony. Does not qualify for legal representation dividend.

Level 2 – Requires sponsorship from higher level, and photograph of front and back of government issued ID, and an membership card is issued.

Level 3 – Victims of legal oppression by the state are the beneficiaries of the trust and receive dividends for legal defence of their customary rights to medicine, food, rational thought, thought, and peaceful enjoyment, established in the UN DRIPS declaration

Level 4 – High priests of cantheism, providers of knowledge, and organisers of the church

Profits must be used to run the charitable trust to achieve its purpose, Trustees are accountable to the beneficiaries and must comply with the trust deed and the Trustee Act 1956; this being the case

All members are eligible to receive funds to support their legal defence in the event of religious persecution, however priority is given to members with earlier claims

How To Apply

Applications can be done online, at meetings, and special provision is made to provide emergency legal representation by phone call from custody of the state for victims of thought-crime based persecution so long as they have not harmed any animal or plant.

A membership form will be available at church, and can be deposited with the trustees of each monthly meeting, with a donation.

Prohibited and vetted membership

Current or past employees of the Police, Corrections, and Ministry of Justice must declare this fact upon joining or will be disqualified from dividends payment if declaration is found to be false ever. Entry for prohibited members is by majority vote of level 4 members at quorum and requires a DNA sample to be decoded or otherwise digitised.

Membership forms and fees

Yes, the initial membership fee is $50 for non-members, strictly enforced; and then $5 each month thereafter, only if attending monthly church ceremonies. Casual church attendees do not have to join but maybe asked for a minimum of $20 for casual entry

50% off fees if the person is the holder of a student ID, community service card, mobility parking permit, or Seniors Gold Card.

How people stop being a member of the society

Simply cease attending church is fine. If you wish you can also request to quit.

The rules must set out how membership to a society can be ended either by an individual member or by the society.

A member can resign simply by notifying the secretary in writing.

A membership can be ended due to:

  • non-payment of membership fees
  • behaviour that brings the society into disrepute
  • a majority vote by the trustees

Right to appeal a decision of the society to end a person’s membership exists, you can state your piece at the next monthly 4:20 to the trustees and second and final vote will be taken.

Make-up of the board

The board shall have no more than 3 members, voted on by members every 4 years, 1 year prior to the NZ elections. A member can be removed by two thirds majority. Voters are those who donated to the church and became members.

Management of property of the trust

To be controlled and managed by the board: The trust does not initially have any property, all property use and management to be controlled by unanimous votes in the board.

The powers and duties of the trustees

The trustee’s job is to seek out, and allow themselves to be sought out, by believers who have run into difficulties with the law, not by hurting an animal or plant, and provide assistance to them, primarily for support of court cases and appeals. Once our sacrament is legal in this New Zealand chapter of the church, we can move on to other countries and to responsible use of ceremonial sacrament, and also to the rationalisation, regulation and taxation of other mind altering substances and activities that hurt nobody else.

When we live in a universe free of this type of prejudice…

and when there is no more war between countries…

and when there is no place that our sacrament is a crime…

then the perpetual trust can expire.

How the funds and property of the trust will be applied

By unanimous decision by the board.

Meetings of the board

The board shall meet either personally or by internet at the last Psalms 4:20 meeting of each season namely February, May, August, and November. The monthly Psalms 4:20 meetings are held on either the first Friday or the first Saturday of each month, so long as they are not 1 or 2 January.

Changes to Trust deed or rules

May only be altered via unanimous agreement at a board meeting

Distribution of assets on winding up or dissolution will occur (NZ Chapter)

When citizens are no longer persecuted purely for their thoughts, and plant based ways of life, voluntarily entered or by birth, are accepted and protected in law, so long as they hurt no person or plant, the trustees are able to vote to dissolve the trust. Surplus assets must be distributed to other charitable organisations chosen by a vote of church members.
